Fastest Bundesliga goal

Augsburg's Robin Fellhauer scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history against Bayern Munich on October 10, 2026. He capitalized on an error by Manuel Neuer, whose poor clearance fell to Fellhauer, and scored after eight seconds. In fact, Fellhauer could have finished a second or two earlier had he shot instead of running the ball into the net. Neuer was previously at the receiving end of Kevin Volland's record goal. Until now, the record was held jointly by Kevin Volland and Karim Bellarabi with goals after nine seconds in Bundesliga.

Robin Fellhauer scores after eight seconds for Augsburg against Bayern Munich, 10 October 2026.

Two patterns for fastest goals

One pattern behind the fastest goals is an individual error by the defensive block while clearing or passing the ball that is picked up by an opponent. Kevin Volland's goal, the fastest goal in EPL by Shane Long, and the goals by Makaay and Şükür fall into this category. When I try to give a speech in front of an audience, I'm vulnerable mostly for the first few seconds. Individual mistakes in the beginning are probably due to similar vulnerabilities in the field before they settle in. The other is a planned kick-off routine, probably rehearsed in training. Goals from Mbappé or Llorente seem to be perfectly executed as per their plan.

How much faster can a goal get?

Fellhauer is the third player who has touched the ball to score the goal. Do we have scope to better this record? Now to better this record, players will have to attempt directly from kickoff. The records from lower leagues have such examples. What do you think?
